Start with the water.
Then choose the filter.
Before comparing brands, define where you want filtered water and the specific issue you want to address.
1. Choose the point of use
- Shower: Compare a complete filtered showerhead with an inline attachment. Check temperature and flow limits.
- Bathroom sink: Check faucet compatibility, maintenance and whether the product is intended for your routine.
- Drinking water: Compare faucet, countertop and under-sink options against the contaminants you want to reduce.
- Whole home: Start with your incoming water, plumbing and household demand before choosing a system.
2. Look for evidence for the exact model
Read the performance documentation and any applicable certification listing. A broad phrase such as “cleaner water” does not tell you which contaminants were evaluated or the conditions of use.
3. Calculate ownership cost
Add the device price, installation, required cartridges, shipping and any subscription commitment over the same period for each product.
